Bang! Rule Summary
(2002)


1. Overview

  • Genre: Hidden role, card game, western shootout
  • Players: 4–7 players (8 with expansion)
  • Play Time: ~30–45 minutes

    • Secret roles and alliances

2. Objective 🎯

  • Fulfill your role’s mission to win:

Sheriff Eliminate all Outlaws and the Renegade 🔵
Deputy Help the Sheriff survive 🛡️
Outlaws Kill the Sheriff 🔴
Renegade Be the last player standing 🃏

3. Components 🃏

  • Role cards (hidden, Sheriff is revealed)
  • Character cards (with unique HP and powers)
  • Playing cards (weapons, attacks, defenses, etc.)
  • Bullet tokens (HP markers)

play smart, shoot fast, and survive!


4. Gameplay Flow 🔄

1️⃣ Setup

  • Deal 1 role card to each player (Sheriff is revealed)
  • Assign character card and HP
  • Draw 2 cards per player

2️⃣ On Your Turn

  • Draw 2 cards
  • Play as many cards as you want (only 1 Bang! unless ability says otherwise)
  • Discard down to HP limit

3️⃣ Key Card Types

  • Bang! – Shoot a player within range 🔫
  • Missed! – Block a Bang! 🛡️
  • Beer – Heal 1 HP 🍺
  • Weapons – Increase shooting range
  • Specials – Duel, Jail, Dynamite, etc.

5. Win Conditions 🏁

  • Sheriff dies → Outlaws or Renegade win
  • All Outlaws + Renegade eliminated → Sheriff team wins
  • Renegade alone alive → Renegade wins

6. Tips 💡

✅ Bluffing and reading players is key 🧠
✅ Deputies must protect without revealing too soon
✅ Renegades need patience and timing ⏱️
✅ Outlaws should coordinate attacks on the Sheriff
